Welcome to VON Hamilton
For over a century, VON has provided health care in the Hamilton community. Today’s active agency with 150 staff and 900 volunteers has come a long way from the one nurse branch started by Mrs. Adelaide Hunter Hoodless in 1899. However, the spirit of care and compassion at its core and the commitment to individual health, dignity and well-being remain the same.
VON is committed to help people live independently in the community and have the best possible quality of life. With VON’s help, many elderly, ill or disabled persons have been able to delay or avoid admission to an institution. People in hospitals have been able to return to their homes more quickly with VON support, and many caregivers have been given the assistance and relief they need to continue caring for a loved one at home.
