Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Greater Halifax is a branch of VON Canada. VON Canada has more than 5,000 staff and 14,000 volunteers in branches across the country, which provide over 50 different home nursing, corporate health, volunteer, personal/home support and other services to Canadians in over 1,400 communities coast to coast.
Today, VON Greater Halifax is the largest of the ten Branches in Nova Scotia. We serve Halifax Regional Municipality, an area covering 5,577 square kilometers with a population of 360,000 people. Our nurses make an average of 13,000 nursing visits a month to people of all ages who have a wide variety of nursing care needs. We also have a wonderful team of over 250 volunteers who provide a wide variety of services through our Community Support Charitable Programs.
