WHAT IS IT?
Adult day programs are an example of the VON
pledge, Caring for Life, in action. Participants are seniors and,
in some centres, younger people with special needs. The program
helps them face a variety of physical, mental and social challenges.
For VON, the goal is to provide health monitoring, foot care, personal
care, recreational activities and nutritious food. For families
and other caregivers, the program offers respite from the daily
challenge of physical and emotional care. It's a multi-faceted program
with a multitude of benefits.
WHO QUALIFIES?
Frail seniors and people with long-term illnesses
needing assistance or social interaction.
