Mr. Bob Russell – Chair
|
Mr. Bob Russell became Chair of VON Canada’s National Board in October 2010 for a two-year term. Bob has spent five years on the National Board; he chaired the Strategic Planning Working Group and in addition sat on the Executive, Governance, HR and Finance & Audit Committees.
He served as an Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy and enjoyed a career in the federal Public Service including National Defence, Statistics Canada, Veterans Affairs, Canada Post Corporation and Transport Canada. Bob retired as a senior executive and provided technology management consulting services until full retirement in 2004.
Mr. Bob Russell served as Treasurer on the local Tri-County VON Board for five years. His community involvement began in Ottawa with organizing the first Miles-for-Millions walkathon and continued with the United Way of Ottawa-Carleton. As a fair-weather sailor, he was also President and Secretary-Treasurer of Yarmouth’s local boat club for a number of years. |

Ms. Lynn Power - Vice Chair
|
Ms. Power is the Director of Policy & Practice with the Association of Registered Nurses of NL She is currently the Board Chair for VON St. John’s. She sits on the provincial telehealth , healthline and the Personal Health Information Act Steering committees and is involved with several coalitions to develop public policy in areas such as the promotion of breastfeeding, Alliance Against the Use of Tobacco, enhancement of services to seniors, the enhancement of community based mental health services, a ban on the use of cosmetic pesticides to name a few.
Ms. Power completed her Diploma in Nursing in 1982 at the General Hospital School of Nursing and obtained my BN (1996) and Masters of Nursing (2001) degrees through Memorial University of Newfoundland School of Nursing, where she has been an adjunct professor since 2002 |

Mr. David McIsaac – Treasurer

David is the Chief Financial Officer for Northern Trust Canada, part of Northern Trust Corporation, a global entity founded more than 120 years ago with US$4.4 trillion in assets under custody as at March 31, 2011. Northern Trust is a global leader in investment management, asset and fund administration, and fiduciary and banking solutions.
In his role, David is responsible for managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company which includes interacting with regulators and the Board. He has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry, previously working for Aviva Canada, Manulife Financial, CIBC and RBC.
David is a Certified General Accountant, holds a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto and attended the Queen’s School of Business Executive Development Program and the Leadership Development Program at The Niagara Institute.
David has been a member of VON’s Finance and Audit committee since October 2009, becoming a Board member and Chair of the committee in October 2010. David is also a member of the Pension and Executive committees. In addition to serving on the Board of VON, David also serves on the Ontario Advisory Board and National Board of the Arthritis Society where he Chairs the nominations committee for Ontario |

Ms. Donna Hutton – Regional Director, Western Region
|
Ms. Hutton is a principal with Hutton & Associates Consulting that deals in policy development and government relations. Ms. Hutton served as Executive Director of the Alberta Associations of Registered Nurses and Director of Nursing for the Cross Cancer Institute and the University of Alberta Hospitals.

Mr. Neil Stuart - Regional Director, Central Region
|
Mr. Neil Stuart served for many years as a partner and practice leader of the health care consulting practices of Price Waterhouse, PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM. In June 2010 he was appointed board chair of Cancer Care Ontario. He is also on the boards of The Change Foundation and the Patient's Association of Canada, an organization that is dedicated to giving voice to the patient and improving the health care experience for all involved. Neil has a PhD in Health Policy from Brandeis University and has held teaching appointments at the University of Ottawa and the University of Toronto. |

Mr. Roland Kriening -
Regional Director, Central Region
|
Roland Kriening is Managing Director and Principal at nuVis/medHR where he provides specialized consulting and program management services to various industry sectors including healthcare. He has been involved in the healthcare and support sectors for more than 10 years and served as a member of a hospital executive team in Winnipeg. Roland has served as a board member for the South West CCAC, and also for the Middlesex Elgin VON, where he chaired the Community Relations and Advocacy Committee and currently supports the Fund Development Committee.
He has also held faculty appointments at both the University of Manitoba and the University of Western Ontario since 1998, lecturing in the areas of business, human resources and psychology. |

Mr. Sandy Goulding - Regional Director, Eastern Region
|
Mr. Goulding currently works as the Manager of Business Development for Tekoil and Gas Corporation’s Canadian Operations. Mr. Goulding has worked for the Federal Government in a number of departments and in a political capacity within the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Government. |

Mr. Joshua Dougherty -

Mr. Dougherty obtained a Bachelor's Degree in History, with a minor in Women Studies, at Concordia University in Montreal Quebec and a Master's Degree in American History at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. He studied law at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and is counsel for the Canadian Radio-Television Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in Gatineau, Quebec. |

Dr. Shauneen Pete - Member at Large

Dr. Shauneen Pete is from Little Pine First Nation (SK). She has worked as an educator in the province for over 20 years. She completed her PhD in Higher Education Administration from the Univ. of Arizona. She is the Interim President of the First Nations University of Canada
She utilizes an anti-oppressive approach to her professional development program delivery. She is recognized for her ability to assist organizations in preparing for a representativeWork force. She has supported the RCMP, SAHO, and the Regina Qu'Appelle Health District in their efforts to bring equity to their workplace.
Dr. Pete is a respected storyteller. |

Mr. Rob Ireland - Member at Large

Mr. Rob Ireland currently holds the title of partner at Mansfield Communications. Prior to joining Mansfield Communications in July of 2005, Rob was director of executive and internal communications for Hewlett-Packard, Americas Region where he managed HP's executive presence throughout North and South America. Previous to that role, Rob was manager of corporate and public relations for HP Canada which was a position he assumed through the merger of Compaq Canada and HP Canada. Mr. Ireland's agency experience began at Cohn & Wolfe where he was a practice manager for the business-to-business technology group. Mr. ireland also was manager of corporate affairs & internal communications at Xerox Canada - positions he assumed after holding a direct sales role.
