Welcome to the third issue of the Caregiver Connector newsletter!

Spring is a time of change. The weather is starting to get warmer, you feel the urge to clean, and your income tax return is due.

As a caregiver, spring can be a time for a change too. Are you in need of support? Looking to connect with other caregivers? Do you want to share your story with others?     In this issue of our e-newsletter, we are introducing the new and improved discussion forums. Come and see how you can connect and share with other caregivers.

We also have an updated list of caregiving information available in your province or territory, a new blog post on how to talk to your manager about your caregiving responsibilities, and a new resource about medication.

Know what you can claim this Tax Season Additional financial support is available through a variety of federal, provincial, and territorial income tax deductions and credits. These tax credits are worth a close look if you are a caregiver or someone who is receiving care. Reducing federal and provincial income taxes can help relieve some of the financial pressure associated with providing care. Tax Information for Caregivers As a caregiver, you may be eligible for the following tax credits and benefits: Caregiver amount                   Infirm dependant amount Eligible dependant amount    Child disability benefit Disability tax credit supplement for children Tax Information for Special Groups There is information for special groups of individuals, including amounts you may be able to transfer from the person you provide care to.
