Sarnia-Lambton holds 25th annual Memorial Garden service

13 names added during the 25th annual Memorial Garden ceremony

The VON Sarnia-Lambton Memorial Garden is a community space that was built 25 years ago, in partnership with VON and the Huzevka family. The garden memorializes the Huzevka family’s son, who they lost to a motorcycle accident on his birthday, September 20. Every year since, members of the community are invited to honour a lost loved one by adding their name to a memorial wall in the garden. And, on September 20 each year, VON staff and a committee of the VON Sarnia-Lambton Community Corporation (CC), led by CC member Vicki Emery, organize an event to honour those whose names have been added to the garden.

This year’s event recognized 13 names that had been added to the stones; since the inaugural ceremony, more than 2,000 names have been added to the memorial wall.
